My grandpa was invited to some sort of celebration at a temple in Kaohsiung so a bunch of us in the family went. We took a bus down to Kaohsiung from Tainan and by the time we reached there, it was just getting dark. A huge dinner was served that consisted of a lot of seafood because Taiwan is an island, and seafood is a significant part of the Taiwanese person’s diet. A lot of the older grandpas got drunk so that was quite a sight to watch. However, the temple was so lively with a huge crowd and by the time everything was done, it was night and the lanterns lining the road were very pretty. We took the bus back to Tainan with a night’s worth of memories.
