Food, Yujing, and the Night Market

Tainan is where I stayed the longest in Taiwan, as we stayed at my grandma and grandpa’s house there. Tainan is known for its food so needless to say, I ate a bunch of different foods there that are harder to find in the U.S., such as oyster pancakes, shrimp rolls, Taiwanese-style noodles, and just street vendor food in general. Taiwan also has something called “night markets,” in which vendors come out and sell all sorts of things from clothes, to shoes, to accessories, to food at night. Basically, it is what the name entails in addition to stalls where you can play games like at a carnival. I went with my cousin and we tried so much food that we couldn’t eat any more.

Besides eating (which I found myself doing a lot while there), I went to Yujing, a district in Tainan. We visited a temple, which had huge grounds and structures with very nice landscape design done. Yujing is known for its mango shaved ice so we had to get some before we left and yes, it was delicious.
